According to world health organization following are such habits that will damage your brain severely:


1. No Breakfast – Due to our busy schedule, many of us forget to take breakfast. People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.




2. Overeating – Most of the times we find tasty food and start eating more that what our body requires. This cause hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.


3. Smoking – “PLEASE STOP SMOKING” It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.


4. High Sugar consumption – Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
Sugar can suppress the immune system, upset the body's mineral balance. Sugar can contribute hyperactivity  anxiety. depression, concentration difficulties, and crankiness in children.


5. Air Pollution – This has been the greatest cause of worry for people living in the cities. The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.


6. Sleep Deprivation – The present generation suffers from the curse of insomnia. We are addicted to the online world. Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.


7. Head covered while sleeping – Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide through rebreathing, and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects or Hypoxia. Hypoxia means lock of oxygen in the brain and has been considered responsible for an increase of A-beta proteins, the accumulation in which is considered as the significant maker of Alzheimer's disease.


8. Working your brain during illness – Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain.


9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts – Thinking is the best way to train our brain, so think more, write more, explore more all this will help you to keep your brain fresh. Lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.


10. Talking Rarely – Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain. Be active participants in the meetings and get-together. Share your thoughts, listen to people, Share a few laughs.

  6. Sigh.. I'm actually guilty of doing #s 1, 6 and 8. I can't help but not avoid #8 especially when I've got deadlines to fill -- regardless if I'm sick or recovering from an illness.

  16. OMG...I don't really take breakfast. I wake up at 10am so I have my, the so called BRUNCH now. I eat my dinner at 5pm. And Snacks at night. So guilty!
